Dark Gaps are astrophysical things that are so large, that have severity so high, that their break free speed (some seven distance per second on Earth) surpasses the greatest cosmic posted rate restrict - the rate of mild (186,000 distance per second). Since nothing can journey quicker than the rate of mild, nothing (matter and/or energy) once within a Dark Opening can ever get out again - or so the obviously ironclad reasoning went.
However, that's all according to traditional science. A physicist by the name of Edward Bekenstein came up with the concept of implementing huge science to these things (upon a recommendation by his tutor David Wheeler - who furthermore created the term "Black Hole"), and once that was done, well lo and look at, these things obviously displayed entropy, and therefore had a heat range and therefore must show and therefore can throw up out things. His concepts were mulled over and over again and lastly decided to and extended on by the popular astrophysicist/cosmologist Stephen Selling. That things that a Dark Opening can regurgitate now goes under the name of Selling rays, or to provide credit score where credit score is due it is officially Bekenstein-Hawking rays. However, it's usually just known as Selling rays so I'll keep with that meeting.
Of course if Dark Gaps have a heat range, then they must adhere to the same regulations of thermodynamics as any other item with heat range. One key factor in thermodynamics is that power transactions between things are at least partially identified by one object's heat range in comparison to another object's heat range. The heat range of a hot cup of java will remain hot more time the greater the heat range of the surroundings that encompasses that hot cup of java. A Dark Hole's heat range must be in comparison to whatever heat range encompasses that item when considering the destiny of the Dark Opening. So how does a Dark Opening get temperature?
In hindsight, how this happens is apparent (as are all great concepts when implementing hindsight).
There is no such thing as the ideal machine. That could only be obtained at a heat range of overall zero where and when everything is 100% freezing firm. Unfortunately, such a condition goes against one of the most essential concepts of huge science - the Heisenberg Doubt Concept - where it is difficult to know both the strength and place of anything with 100% perfection. If something were at overall zero, freezing firm and status still, you'd know both the strength (which would be zero) and place (at a standstill) of that something with overall perfection.
Since there is always a lowest condition of power anywhere in the Galaxy (something above overall zero), and since power and huge are comparative (Einstein's popular formula/equation), then that power condition, the incorrect not-quite-absolute-zero machine, the machine energy*, can produce huge - exclusive contaminants. Aspect of that everyday living is an place known as the occasion horizon**, which is a concept relevant to the concept we contact Dark Gaps. These cosmic things all have a meeting skyline which encompasses them.
The occasion skyline around a Dark Opening is that somewhat fluffy place that distinguishes the place (below the occasion horizon) from which severity guidelines over the rate of mild, and that place (above the occasion horizon) where gravity's break free speed can't quite control that rate of mild speed. I say its "fuzzy" since it's not blade distinct, at the same time nearly so.
